Privacy Policy

Last Updated: March 31, 2026  ·  Effective Date: March 30, 2026

This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how the GymBino mobile application ("App," "GymBino," "we," "us," "our") handles your information when you use the App on your iOS device. The App is developed and operated by Taylor Simmons ("Developer," "we," "us," "our").

Please read this Policy carefully. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.

Our Commitment: GymBino is designed to be a private, personal fitness tracker. We do not run advertising networks, we do not sell your data, we do not use third-party analytics SDKs, and we have no servers of our own that store your personal fitness information. Your data lives on your device and, if you choose, in your own iCloud account.

1. Information We Do NOT Collect

To be transparent about our privacy-first approach, the following types of data are NOT collected, accessed, or transmitted by the Developer:

We do not use any third-party advertising networks, analytics SDKs (such as Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Flurry, or similar), or behavioral tracking libraries.

2. Information Stored on Your Device

All personal fitness data you enter into the App is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework and/or in your personal iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit service. The Developer has no access to this data at any time.

2.1 Workout & Fitness Data (SwiftData / CloudKit)

The following data is stored locally on your device and optionally synced to your personal iCloud account:

This data is used solely to display your workout history, generate progress analytics, detect personal records, display the muscle recovery heatmap, and provide workout suggestions within the App.

2.2 App Preferences (UserDefaults — Device-Local Only)

The following preferences are stored locally on your device using Apple's UserDefaults system. This data does NOT sync to iCloud and is NOT accessible to the Developer:

2.3 Purpose of Local Data Storage

All data stored on your device is used exclusively to:

3. iCloud Synchronization

3.1 CloudKit Sync

If you are signed into iCloud on your device, the App automatically syncs your workout data (Section 2.1) to Apple's CloudKit service. This allows your data to remain consistent across multiple Apple devices signed into the same Apple ID.

3.2 Developer Has No Access to Your iCloud Data

CloudKit data is stored in YOUR personal iCloud account. The Developer cannot read, access, modify, or delete your iCloud data. Apple's privacy policies govern the handling of data in iCloud.
Apple's Privacy Policy: https://www.apple.com/privacy/

3.3 iCloud Fallback

If iCloud is unavailable (e.g., no iCloud account signed in, no internet connectivity), the App falls back to a local-only storage mode and continues to function normally.

3.4 iCloud Key-Value Store

The App may use iCloud Key-Value Store (iCloud KVS) for syncing certain lightweight preferences across devices. The Developer has no access to the content of your iCloud KVS data.

3.5 Managing Your iCloud Data

You can manage, download, or delete your iCloud data through:

Deleting the App and disabling iCloud sync will stop new data from being written to iCloud. Existing iCloud data can be deleted via the Reset All Data function within the App, which propagates deletions to CloudKit and all synced devices.

4. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

4.1 Processed by Apple

All in-app purchases and subscriptions ("GymBino Pro" — monthly and annual plans) are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. The Developer does NOT collect, process, or store any payment information, credit card data, or billing details.

4.2 StoreKit Transaction Data

The App uses Apple's StoreKit framework solely to:

Transaction verification is performed cryptographically through Apple's servers. The Developer does not receive or store your payment method, billing address, or full transaction history — only the verified subscription status (active or inactive) needed to gate Pro features.

4.3 Apple's Payment Privacy

Your payment and billing information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. For questions about billing, contact Apple at https://support.apple.com/billing.

5. Workout File Sharing (.gymbinoworkout)

The App allows you to export custom workout templates as ".gymbinoworkout" files (JSON format). These files contain only the workout structure (exercise names, muscle groups, set/rep targets, and equipment types) that you have defined. They do not contain your personal workout logs, PR history, cardio history, or any personally identifying information.

File sharing is entirely user-initiated through iOS sharing features (AirDrop, Messages, Mail, Files, etc.). The Developer has no involvement in or access to files you share.

When the App receives an imported .gymbinoworkout file, the file is processed locally on your device and saved to your local App preferences. No data from imported files is transmitted to any server.

6. Notifications & Background Sync

6.1 Local Notifications

The App requests permission to send you local notifications for the following purposes:

All local notifications are scheduled via Apple's UNUserNotificationCenter framework on your device only. No notification content, schedule, or delivery data is ever transmitted to the Developer or any third party. You may manage notifications at any time via iOS Settings → Notifications → GymBino.

6.2 CloudKit Silent Background Sync

The App uses Apple Push Notification service (APNs) infrastructure solely to receive silent, system-level background notifications from Apple's CloudKit service. These are invisible signals sent by Apple's servers — not by the Developer — that tell the App when new workout data is available to sync from your iCloud account. No personal data is contained in these signals; they are simply a trigger for the App to fetch your own iCloud data.

7. App Store Review Requests

The App may prompt you to rate or review it using Apple's native "Request Review" API (SKStoreReviewRequest). This prompt is handled entirely by Apple. The Developer receives no information about whether you submitted a review, the content of any review, or any related personal data.

8. Apple Platform Services

By using the App on an Apple device, certain data may be processed by Apple as part of normal platform operations, including:

These activities are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy: https://www.apple.com/privacy/

The Developer only receives aggregate anonymized metrics through App Store Connect (such as total downloads and crash counts with no personal identifiers).

9. Children's Privacy

GymBino is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. If you believe that a child under 13 has used the App, please contact us at gymbninosupport@gmail.com so we can take appropriate steps. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 in violation of COPPA.

10. Your Privacy Rights

California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of sale of personal data. We do not sell personal data. Because the Developer does not collect personal information on its own servers, most of these rights are exercised directly on your device. Contact us at gymbninosupport@gmail.com with any questions.

European Residents (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland: Because the App stores data exclusively on your device and in your personal iCloud account — with no processing by the Developer on our own servers — the Developer does not act as a "data controller" or "data processor" for your personal workout data under the GDPR. Your data is processed solely by you and by Apple (under Apple's own GDPR compliance obligations). To exercise your GDPR rights, you can delete all App data on your device or contact us at gymbninosupport@gmail.com.

10.5 Data Retention and Deletion

Your workout data is retained on your device and iCloud for as long as you choose to keep it. You can delete all data at any time using:

11. Data Security

Your fitness data is protected by your device's built-in security features, including iOS data encryption, device passcode/biometric authentication, and Apple's secure enclave technology. Data synced to iCloud is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple. Because the Developer operates no servers that store your personal fitness data, there is no developer-controlled database that could be breached to expose your workout history.

13. Links to Third-Party Sites

The App's Settings screen may contain links to third-party websites (e.g., our Privacy Policy URL, Terms of Use URL, Apple billing support). Once you leave the App by following such a link, this Privacy Policy no longer applies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third-party sites.

14. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App's features, applicable laws, or our data practices. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Policy. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
